Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm are a few of the various filling agents that are injected into wrinkles, depressions and folds of the face to soften signs of aging. Botox and Dysport are medications injected into muscles of the face to reduce the severity of frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet. Botox and Dysport can also decrease the function of other muscles of the face to create a more youthful appearance. The medication usually lasts around three months, however, some patients experience a longer effect.
As we age we tend to lose collagen and volume which makes you look older. Sculptra is injected into the face to help stimulate your body to produce collagen. After several sessions, these injections can restore the lost volume in your face, and the results can last up to two years. Sculptra works well for younger and older patients, and is an excellent option for patients who are not candidates for surgery due to medical reasons. Ask Dr. Aaronson if Sculptra is right for you.
